AGIOS GORDIOS

Agios Gordios is located in the middle of the west coast of Corfu and boasts one of the most beautiful and popular sandy beaches, which is surrounded by olive groves and impressive rocky formations, creating an amazing landscape. A gigantic rock like a huge monolith, (Ortholithi, the imposing upstanding rock in the sea) dominates the bay. Agios Gordios is located at a distance of about 16 kilometers West of Corfu town.

The sandy beach of Agios Gordios is one of the best in Corfu, very long, almost a mile long and leaves enough personal space to everybody. Agios Gordios beach is suitable for children of any age. Just be aware that there might be some currents which are characteristic for the west coast of Corfu. Sun beds, umbrellas, scuba diving, water skiing, banana ride, parasailing and several other water sports facilities are offered  in Agios Gordios Beach.
Where else in the world would you find fantastic sandy beaches backed by forests but still retaining traditional village charm avoiding mass tourism and huge holiday complexes. Development here has been slow and organic, compared to the Island's other resorts with such a beautiful beach and setting. Accommodation here consists of small apartments and hotels with welcoming, friendly atmosphere.

At the village you can find everything you might need. There are different traditional greek tavernas, restaurants, beach bars, mini markets, car & bike rental offices and all the kind of services which ensure that you won't be missing anything during your holidays. Dine under the stars or sip a cocktail while gazing at the most amazing sunset. Nightlife is limited to a handful of friendly bar/disco bars.

For walkers this is a real treat as there are some beautiful walks on the hills above Aghios Gordios. Visit the picturesque ancient Greek village of Sinarades, that has been forgotten by tourism, with its winding streets leading past old houses overflowing with flowers. The approach road to Aghios Gordios is said to be one of the most picturesque on the island, where the most amazing pictures can be taken.

A ride into Corfu town by taxi will typically cost you around 25 €. Buses run daily from Agios Gordios and get you into Corfu Town after a 35 minute ride.
